Humans don't use up resources, they create new ones
"The guy to go to on this is Julian Simon. He was an economist mostly active in the late 20th century, and he wrote a book called The Ultimate Resource. And he addressed this issue on the theoretical level, addressed this issue of resource depletion. Actually, the ultimate resource is the human mind, and the more human minds there are out there working to solve problems and come up with new technology, the more resources they are going to create. This is the idea. You know, humans don't use up resources, they create new resources by coming up with new ideas. You know, every time they say, oh, we're having a shortage of this thing or having a shortage of that thing. Every time we have a shortage of something, somebody comes up with the new idea for a new technology and either taps the new resource or finds more of the existing resource. And we keep growing. And the reason we keep growing is because of the power of the human mind to innovate. And so if you're asking about what went right, what is it? What's the big lesson that we're gonna learn from this history. You know, if you want to keep this progress going, the big lesson is the power of the human mind to innovate and the need to liberate that and to allow that to happen and not to constrict."
