Good futurists should be good historians
"Wouldn't it be strange if different laws of physics applied in the eighth century or the 20th century or the 25th century. I think that looking at the past, the present and the future, we learn things for all of them. Good futurists should in fact be good historians. Good sociologists of today should end up being good futurists, but few people make that mental leap. I think we will have to because I believe that we need to recover the intellectual dark matter of our own contemporary society.
